It’s getting near time…

So I listened to Obama speaking (first mistake, I know) and he tells the Republicans “You had ten years” to straighten out the health care system.

And they didn’t. And they don’t have a leg to stand on because since the first heady days of the Contract with America, republicans in congress have fallen into “dimmocrat lite”. I don’t know what makes a politician get to Washington and immediately assume that every problem in the world can be fixed by more rules, another federal agency, and a few tax dollars, but a majority of them get that way. And the rest, who don’t, get into the “my esteemed colleague” mode, addressing people like Barney Frank as if he were of sterling character and his ideas of no more import than a difference in the color of the carpet.

I’m tired of the silence that signifies assent. Take Charlie Wrangel. Have you heard any REAL outrage from his “fellow congressmen”? Hell, no! No wonder the public gives congress a sub-20% approval rating. Not only does Charlie Wrangel ( and before him Louisiana’s own “Dollar Bill” Jefferson) get caught with his hand in the cookie jar, but no HONEST congressman of either party says anything past “tut, tut…”

Freakin’ Barney Frank was running a gay prostitution service out of his Washington apartment… tut,tut.
Teddy Kennedy DROWNS a campaign worker… tut,tut!
Murtha is on video taking cash from a sting operation… tut, tut!
Harry Reid openly amligns the US armed forces… tut,tut!

I’m tired! Call a spade a spade. Show there’s a difference. Most of America is tired of one rule for all of us, another rule for them. do you think the IRS would have been as congenial with a tax error with ol’ Joe Schmucj as they were with Obama’s pick for TREASURY secretary, Tim Geitner? I’ve dealt with the IRS over tax errors and there was nothing “nice” about them.

Public health care? I’d think very well of “public health facilities” if the public health facility I used was the congressional wing of Walter Reid.

Energy issues wouldn’t be nearly as much a concern if a limo picked me up every morning.

I am an American. I do not ASK for privilege. I was born to my OWN “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” And I do not do “classes”. I expect to work for me and mine, and I expect others to do the same for theirs. I will extend a hand to the unfortunate, but not the lazy.

And I am keeping close eye, as Claire Wolfe says, because “America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.”

And it may be later than we think.

  1. Well said, sir. Methinks it is, indeed, later than most think. But then, most don’t have a clue of what’s going on if it isn’t happening on “American Idol” or “Entertainment Tonight”. I ain’t “most”. And obviously you aren’t either.

    And therein a dilema. Will it be, once the scales are tipped, that the fight is to abolish that which is fetid and corrupt, replacing it with whatever our “reset” might be.

    Or will it just be ones and tens of us, fighting it out to the end, rather than to submit?

  3. IMHO the only way forstall the shooting is another Reagan. I just don’t see that person out there.
    I have the bad feeling we will go down in a pile of brass, but free.

  4. I’ve said it on numerous occasions: Claire was wrong. The time to shoot was long ago. Now it’s too late. All that shooting the bastards will get us is a boot on the neck faster.

    The citizens do have the ability to force term limits, but sadly as Bruiser pointed out, the programing has no audience. :(
